Graduate Programs

To complete the Online Application, you need a scanned copy of the following: (Max File Size 1 MB for each)

• 1. Application Fee A non-refundable application fee of 600 SAR is required at the time of application.
• 2. Current resume or Curriculum Vitae Please upload a current resume or CV as a part of your application.
• 3. Personal Photograph A recent colored personal photo must be submitted.
• 4. One Letters of Recommendations Applicants are encouraged to submit letters from people, preferably faculty members, who know their strengths and weaknesses. Letters that include information about previous research and/or teaching experience are particularly helpful.
• 5. Official TOEFL or IELTS scores Applicants whose native language is not English must demonstrate English proficiency, unless they meet one of the criteria for an exemption listed below. You qualify for an exemption from taking an English proficiency examination if one of the following criteria are met:
• o You completed all of your undergraduate education and earned an undergraduate degree at an institution where the language of instruction is English only
• o You completed all of your graduate education and earned a graduate degree at an institution where the language of instruction is English only
• o You are Alfaisal University Student or Alumni
• 6. Transcripts Official transcripts are not required at the time of application. A scanned/electronic copy of the official transcript will be used for initial review by our admissions committee. You will be required to have your official transcript sent to the Office of International Students & Exchange only if you are recommended for admission. Your transcripts will be considered official if they were sent directly by your previous school/s to the Office of International Students & Exchange or authenticated by the Saudi embassy in your country.
• 7. A copy of a valid passport with a minimum validity of one year.
• 8. A copy of a financial guarantee letter or a bank statement showing account activity for the last six months.
• 9. Medical Insurance A copy of a valid medical insurance card should be provided, if available. If not, students must obtain health insurance through the university upon admission.

** Please note that applications will only be considered for applicants who have at least one publication in a peer-reviewed journal.

Academic Statement of Purpose The statement of purpose should be a concise, well-written essay about your academic and professional experiences, your career goals, and how completing the Alfaisal University's PhD program will help you progress toward the realization of these goals. The statement of purpose should be between three and five pages.
• 5. Three Letters of Recommendations Letters of recommendation play an important role in the admissions process. Applicants are encouraged to submit letters from people, preferably faculty members, who know their strengths and weaknesses as a scholar, and who can speak to their readiness for a doctoral program at a major research institution such as Alfaisal University. Letters that include information about previous research and/or teaching experience are particularly helpful.
